Feel Better Music
Rob De has gone from house parties to international stages, opening for The Roots, recording with Latin freestyle legend George LaMond, and having his music featured in Dead Island 2.
His defining moment came at a show in Washington, D.C. After years gigging in New York as a guitarist and sideman, he stepped on stage to sing his own songs for the first time. Something shifted. People cried. Strangers told him they really felt something.
He realized he wasn't just performing but creating a space where people could open their hearts and be free, even if it’s only for a moment.
This new path led him to Tokyo for 11 years, where he established himself as an artist until the pandemic left him stranded in America, losing everything he'd built in Japan. So he started over in Virginia Beach, proving reinvention is possible at any stage.
A fan described Rob's as musical "orange juice". Fresh, bitter-sweet and nourishing. His shows deliver songs with a groove that get you in your feelings. Get up and dance or sit back and let his melodies carry you into a moment of refuge.
LATEST RELEASE
As someone who had a childhood dream of becoming a rockstar, getting older forced me to deal with the harsh realities of life and led me to a crossroads.
I wanted to abandon my musical path to become a "responsible" adult and lost sight of the true power of music and what role it has to play in my life.
After deep reflection and performing for more people, I've come to realize how I can make a meaningful impact.
I know I can't save the world but I've witnessed how sharing my music can uplift and inspire people.
Small things like a friend saying he had a bad day at work and felt better after the show.
Or an older gentlemen getting up to slow dance with his wife in the middle of a restaurant and thanking me at the end.
While it may not (yet) be the stadiums and arenas I've dreamt of as a lonely and awkward teenager, it's something precious and real with a powerful ripple effect.
I'm not sure where I'll end up, but I like where I'm going right now.
Are you with me?
